About Me


Kai Kloepfer is the 21-year-old founder of Biofire, a startup that is developing and ultimately selling smarter firearms. Aiming to reduce the thousands of deaths from gun violence and misuse of firearms, he has worked for over four years to develop a biometrically-activated firearm that functions with the owner’s fingerprint. He has received international awards and recognition for his work, including being selected as a Forbes 30 Under 30 at age 19 and articles in the New York Times and the Wall Street Journal. He is on leave from MIT where he is studying Computer Science and Management Science.
